Kid's Music

Jeff  was originally a classical cellist, pianist and composition major - studying music at Boston University and  SUNY, Stony Brook.  After graduation - he performed all over the world, accompanying artists including: Burt Bacharach, Diana Ross, Glady Knight, Sammy Davis Jr., Barry Manilow, Don Rickles, Bob Hope, Dionne Warwick, Barbra Streisand, etc.   

Jeff wrote his first TV song for Ray Charles for the ABC sitcom "Who's the Boss".  The song "Always a Friend" went on to win numerous awards and become a standard in wedding songbooks.

In the 1983, Jeff met legendary kid's composer Joe Raposo (Sesame St).  They became friends and Jeff soon joined Joe's publishing/production company MPI as a staff writer.  After  Joe's untimely death, Jeff took over writing for the TV series "Madeline" and thus began his kid's music career.

He was hired by Cinar Films in Montreal, where Jeff became their music director.   Jeff supervised the music for over 50 series including: "Arthur, Caillou, RIchard Scarry, Paddington Bear, Lassie, Are you Afraid of the Dark, Wimzie's House, Mumble Bumble, City Mouse, Country Mouse" and many other kids' classics.  

He's written over 300 songs and themes for their series' including theme songs: "Arthur, Caillou, Wimzie's House, Are you afraid of the Dark, Paddington Bear,  Mumble Bumble, etc. .  "  

As Jeff's reputation grew, he began working for other top childrens's producers including PBS, Nickelodeon and Disney - composing some of their classic pre-school series' including - "The Shanna Show, Safety Patrol, Shane, Can you teach my Alligator manners", and the new comedy series "Zefronk" starring Mark Hamill from "Star Wars".

Jeff has worked for the Jim Henson Company ("Frances"), Sesame St. and yes, written songs for the infamous "Barney".  He also wrote the theme song for the kid's classic  "Rainbow Fish".

In 2005, Jeff wrote the music, and was one of the producers for the animated Lionsgate film  "Spookley the Square Pumpkin",  that currently airs on Disney Playhouse and in Regal Theatres nationally.

Currently, Jeff continues to work as both a music supervisor and composer for Disney, Cookie Jar, Sprout,  PBS and many other top industry companies.
